I arranged this song and enlisted recording help from LGBTQ queer and trans people of color friends and family who are performers, artists, musicians, educators, healers, and activists.
We recorded this on cell phones and laptops in our individual homes in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, and Brooklyn in April 2020 during the COVID-19 shelter-in-place orders.
We send you this message at a time when music still gives joy and relief even if we cannot share it in person with each other. So join in! Sing out loud, sing out strong! Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone to hear -- just sing— sing a song!
